1.PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The objective of our project is to mobilize the community and fully train them on the importance of protecting the environment for a better future. Our objectives include awareness to the residents on greening the desert, environment protection, and fighting plastic pollution by conducting a weekly clean-up activity by thirty women around Kakuma refugee camp and later transferring the collected waste to Nairobi for recycling and other quantity make the Eco bricks that worked for the microplastic circular economy shop. The activities we plan to carry out through the secured funding from the KOREA SHE FOUNDATION include: building a shop by applying the eco-bricks and other materials and selling various items that have already started. In addition, we are to mobilize the community members for the protection of the environment by organizing training, etc.

2. PROJECT PROGRESS

so far we have conducted five mobilizations and training with thirty participants per forum. In addition, our members in collaboration with the engineer made Eco bricks that are incorporated in the design of our shop. Hence, we have completed the shop construction and we are now selling items. Our shop is located in Kakuma refugee camp, K1Z4B5 Hong Kong area and it is managed by our clean-up women members as an income-generating business.
